S. 2858—The Dorothy I. Height and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act

On April 15, 2008, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) introduced S. 2858, the Dorothy I. Height and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Social Work Reinvestment Act. The bill would require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish the Social Work Reinvestment Commission to provide independent counsel to Congress on policy issues associated with the recruitment, retention, research, and reinvestment in the profession of social work. S. 2858 was referred to the Senate HELP Committee.
