On March 7, 2008, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-DE) introduced S. 2731, the Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008. S. 2731 was referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

March 13, 2008 — The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations (Senator Joseph Biden [D-DE], Chairman) marked up and ordered to be reported S. 2731.

FLOOR ACTION

July 17, 2008 - The Senate agreed to an amendment in the nature of a substitute to S. 2731, then incorporated the text of the bill into H.R. 5501.
