S. 2499—The Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007

On December 18, Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) introduced S. 2499, the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007.

FLOOR ACTION

On December 18 and 19, respectively, the Senate passed by unanimous consent and the House passed by a vote of 411-3, a motion to suspend the rules and pass S. 2499, “The Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007.” S. 2499 includes a provision to reauthorize the Special Statutory Funding Program for Type 1 Diabetes for an additional year at the current funding level of $150 million. The program was set to expire in FY 2008. S. 2499 was introduced by Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) on December 18.

PRESIDENTIAL ACTION

On December 28, the President signed into law as Public Law 110-173, S. 2499, the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007. S. 2499 included a provision to reauthorize the Special Statutory Funding Program for Type 1 Diabetes for an additional year at the current funding level of $150 million. The program was set to expire in FY 2008.
