Theme Hearing

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, HHS, and Education (Representative Dave Obey [D-WI], Chairman) held a theme hearing on "Substance Abuse and Mental Health" and has asked that NIAAA, NIDA, and NIMH appear together with other agencies funded by the Subcommittee, to present their FY2008 budgets. Drs. T. K. Li, Director, NIAAA, Nora Volkow, Director, NIDA, and Thomas Insel, Director, NIMH, testified. Also testifying was Dr. Terry Cline, Administrator of SAMHSA.
