Both programs are due to be reauthorized this year. The BPCA is administered by both FDA and NICHD, whereas PREA is strictly an FDA responsibility. Dr. Donald Mattison, Chief, Obstetric and Pediatric Pharmacology Branch, NICHD, and Dr. Sandra Kweder, Deputy Director, Office of New Drugs, Center For Drug Evaluation and Research, FDA, testified.
