Project Bioshield Hearing

The House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, and Science and Technology (Representative James Langevin [D-RI], Chairman) held a hearing entitled “Can BioShield Effectively Procure Medical Countermeasures that Protect the Nation?” Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director, NIAID, testified on the role of NIH biomedical research in preparing for emerging public health threats. Also testifying were Drs. Gerald Parker, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, DHHS, and Jesse Goodman, Director, Center for Biologics, Evaluation and Research, FDA.
