Senator Specter Holds Field Hearing on SARS

On May 2, 2003, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Edcuation (Senator Arlen Specter [R-PA], Chairman) held a field hearing in Harrisburg, PA, on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, testified on NIH's response to the global outbreak of SARS. Dr. Julie Gerberding, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also testified.
