Senate Appropriations Subcommittee Holds Hearing on Global AIDS and SARS

On April 8, 2003, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, HHS, and Education (Senator Arlen Specter [R-PA], Chairman), just prior to the NIH Overview, heard testimony from a panel about DHHS efforts on global AIDS and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Dr. Julie Gerberding, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Dr. Elias Zerhouni, Director of the National Institutes of Health; and Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, provided an overview.
