House Committee on Energy and Commerce Holds Hearing on Polio Vaccine

On September 10, 2003, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Human Rights and Wellness (Representative Dan Burton [R-IN], Chairman) held a hearing on the polio vaccine. Dr. James Goedert, Chief, Viral Epidemiology Branch, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG), NCI, testified on the Institute's research on the possible link between Simian Virus 40 (SV40) and human cancers. Dr. Goedert was accompanied by Dr. Eric Engels, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, NCI.
