House Select Committee on Homeland Security Holds Hearing on Bioshield
On June 6, 2003, the House Select Committee on Homeland Security (Representative
Christopher Cox [R-CA], Chairman) held a hearing on "Bioshield: Lessons from Current
Efforts to Develop Biowarfare Countermeasures." Dr. John LaMontagne, Deputy Director
of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, testified on the scientific
challenges and progress made in identifying bioweapon agents and the development of
countermeasures.
