Summary: NICHD Researcher Testified at House Hearing on Reading Instruction

On March 8, 2002, the House Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Education Reform (Michael N. Castle [R-At Large-DE], Chairman) held a hearing entitled, "Measuring Success: Using Assessments and Accountability to Raise Student Achievement." G. Reid Lyon, Chief, Child Development and Behavior Branch, NICHD, testified about reading research issues.
