Summary: House Committee on Oversight Holds Hearing on Bioterrorism


On February 28, 2002, the House Committee on Government Reform (Representative Dan Burton [R-IN], Chairman) held a hearing entitled, "Quickening the Pace of Research in Protecting Against Anthrax and Other Biological Terrorist Agents—A Look at Toxin Interference." The focus of the hearing was protecting against anthrax and other possible biological agents and vaccines to prevent illness and the use of antibiotics for post exposure. Stephen Leppla, NIDCR, testified. He was accompanied by Carole Heilman, NIAID.
