P.L. 110-285 - The Caroline Pryce Walker Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2008

On July 29, 2008, the President signed into law H.R. 1553, the Caroline Pryce Walker Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2008. The legislation amends the PHS Act to (1) require the Secretary, in collaboration with the Director of NIH and other Federal agencies, to continue to enhance, expand, and intensify pediatric cancer research and other activities related to pediatric cancer; (2) authorize the Secretary to expand public awareness campaigns; and (3) require the Secretary, through CDC, to establish a childhood cancer registry. The bill would authorize $30 million for each of the Fiscal Years 2009 through 2013 .
